About FSU-TV3

FSU-TV3, Frostburg State University's educational access channel that reaches nearly 5,000 homes in the Frostburg area on the basic tier on Comcast cable system. It is programmed and operated by students in the Department of Mass Communication during the Fall, Intersession and Spring semesters.

Eighty percent of programming on FSU-TV3 is produced by the Department of Mass Communication students. When FSU-TV3 isn't airing its programming, it carries a message board.

Student-produced shows include a news program, "FSU-This Week"; documentaries; "Live at the Loft!"; "Down To Earth"; "LEAD TV"; FSU Music Department and other concerts; guest speakers; multi-camera events such as panel discussions; FSU football, volleyball, soccer, basketball, lacrosse games; and Frostburg City Council Meetings.

The other twenty percent comes from sources such as Annenberg Media NASA and Think Talk Networks. They provide Career TV for College for college students. Their shows include: "Director's Cut," "SHE.E.O," "Recruitville", "Sportlight" and "Blank Page." This network has an online career community where students can view interactive programming of high profile professionals about their career paths and see the shows.

The Frostburg studio is now equipped with start of the are equipment, including three new JVC GY-HD250U High Definition cameras, two 15"professional color LCD prompters, a professional switcher, as well as lighting and audio equipment. The 11 station editing lab is equipped with G5 Mac Computers furnished with the industry standard editing software Final Cut Pro Studio.
