How to Request a Speaker
The speakers guide has been prepared to assist organizations in selecting and engaging a speaker on topics that match to their interests.

To schedule a speaker,

  • select the first, second and third choices from the list of available speakers and topics
  • completely fill out the online Request For Speaker Form and submit it at least four weeks prior to the date of your schedule program

Note that a printable version of the speaker request form is available online. (The printable form is presented in .PDF format.) You can also request a printed copy of the form from the Office of News and Media Services. Completed printed forms should be sent to:

    FSU Speakers Bureau
Office of News and Media Services
    Frostburg State University
    Frostburg, MD 21532-2303

The earlier the request is sent, the better chance of scheduling the first choice. All requests must be electronic or in writing.

The Speakers Bureau will process the request except during such period as examinations, commencement, holidays and vacations, when faculty and staff are not readily accessible. Please understand that all members of the Speakers Bureau are full-time employees and that their schedules may not always leave time for speaking engagements. Upon receiving the request, our office will:

  • Begin procedures to acquire your first choice. If that person is unavailable, the second will be scheduled, or the third.
  • Send both the organization and speaker a letter of confirmation.
  • Send the speaker a reminder notice of the engagement a few days prior to the schedule date of the program.

The Frostburg State University Speakers Bureau does not request honoraria for FSU speakers, but voluntary honoraria are permitted. Reimbursement of travel expenses is appreciated.
