Master of Environmental Management in Sustainability
Admission requirements include:
The program allows for admission in either the Fall or Spring semester and does not have an application deadline.
Basic admission procedures and requirements are in the “Graduate Study at FSU” section of the Graduate Catalog. The following are additional requirements and procedures for the Master of Environmental Management in Sustainability.
- You must have completed a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university. You may apply for admission after the completion of 75 semester hours of your baccalaureate degree course work.
- You must have a cross-institutional cumulative undergraduate grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. If your GPA is below a 3.0, you may be eligible for provisional admission based on related research or work experience.
- Official GRE scores are optional and will not be considered as criteria for admissions to the program.
- You must submit three letters of recommendation.
- You must respond to an essay prompt within your application.
- You must complete the following prerequisite undergraduate coursework (or equivalent) with a grade of C or better:
- Two Introductory Natural Science Courses at the 100- or 200-level (or equivalent) with lab.
- Two Advanced Science Courses at the 300- or 400-level from the broad areas of earth sciences, ecology, energy engineering, environmental science, environmental analysis, sustainability, wildlife and fisheries or others.
- Two Quantitative Courses in calculus, computer programming, or statistics
- Two Foundations Courses related to environmental management or sustainability at the 300- or 400-level drawn from disciplines in the arts, business, humanities, and social sciences.
